Hackney Therapy Shed

-Counselling and Coaching in Hackney -

A calm garden space to pause, reflect and move forward.

You might be feeling…

  • stuck, or unsure about what you really want

  • overwhelmed, or carrying more than you can manage alone

  • aware that something in your life doesn’t feel quite right anymore

  • at a point of change, and questioning what comes next

  • finding it hard to speak up, set boundaries, or trust your own judgement

  • affected by loss — whether recent or from further back

  • disconnected from yourself, or from a sense of direction

Sometimes these feelings build gradually. Other times they’re triggered by something specific. Either way, it can be hard to make sense of it on your own.

“I found your style really approachable, warm, human and compassionate, and simultaneously incisive. I came away feeling stronger, clearer and like I have you in my corner!”

Coaching client testimonial

Coaching can offer a more forward-looking space, helping you to think about what you want your life to look like and how you might begin to move towards that. It can support you in setting intentions, making changes, and finding ways to sustain them over time.

By bringing elements of both together, there is space not only to understand yourself more fully, but also to begin shaping what comes next in a way that feels meaningful and manageable.

People come to see me for a wide variety of reasons but here are some of the issues that I work with most often:

Counselling and coaching can both offer helpful ways of gaining clarity and understanding, and each brings something slightly different.

Counselling can support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings and patterns, including where they may have come from, and whether they still feel relevant in your life now. This kind of reflection can bring a deeper sense of understanding, but sometimes it can also leave you wondering what to do with that insight.

About Me

I’m Mo, a counsellor and coach, and I offer a warm, supportive space to think about what’s going on for you.

The way I work is grounded in warmth, curiosity and connection. Feeling understood is important, but I also believe in gently helping you find clarity. At times I may offer thoughtful challenge, always with care, to help you see things from a different perspective and move forward in a way that feels more like you.

I’ve always been interested in how the human mind works — the ways we make sense of our experiences, and the stories we tell ourselves and each other. In our work together, I may sometimes share psychological ideas where they feel helpful, but the focus is always on your experience and what matters most to you.

The process of counselling isn’t always straightforward. At times it can feel heavy, or difficult to sit with what’s coming up. There may be moments where we slow things down and allow space for reflection, and others where I might gently offer a different perspective. There can also be moments of lightness — humour and laughter can have their place too.

I tend to work in a more interactive way, rather than sitting back in silence. My role is to meet you where you are, and to offer a space where you have the time and support to explore what’s going on for you, at your own pace.

Above all, I aim to offer a space where you can speak openly, feel heard, and begin to find your own way forward.
